11월 10일, 친구들과 함께 가평베네스트 CC를 찾았습니다. 이른 아침 7시 45분 티오프. 분명 11월 9일 바로 전날만 해도 날이 따뜻했는데, 이날은 정말 너무 추웠습니다.
새벽 공기가 코끝을 찡하게 만들었지만, 친구들과 함께하는 올해의 마지막 골프라고 생각하니 설렘이 더 컸습니다.
II. 맹추위 속, 그림 같았던 가평베네스트
날씨는 추웠지만 가평베네스트의 풍경은 그야말로 그림 같았습니다. 늦가을의 정취가 물씬 풍기는 웅장한 산세와 붉게 물든 단풍, 그리고 코스 곳곳의 억새가 어우러져 감탄을 자아냈습니다.
공은 안 맞아도 눈이 즐거운 라운딩이었습니다. 티박스에 설 때마다 펼쳐지는 풍경에 잠시 추위도 잊는 듯했습니다.
III. 스코어는 잊고, 즐거움만 남긴 라운드
하지만 날이 너무 추워서인지, 저를 포함한 동반자들 모두 성적이 좋지는 않았습니다. 몸이 굳어서 스윙도 제대로 되지 않고, 다들 공이 평소보다 덜 나간다며 웃었죠.
그래도 다들 "올해의 마지막 골프"라는 생각에 스코어에 연연하지 않았습니다. 오히려 서로 격려하고 농담을 던지며, 그 순간 자체를 즐겁게 마무리했습니다.
IV. 올해의 마지막 회식: 1차 태평양별관, 2차 치맥
라운드가 끝난 후, 모두 따뜻하게 샤워를 하고 일단 헤어졌습니다. 그리고 저녁에 다시 만나 올해를 마무리하는 마지막 회식을 했습니다.
1차는 '태평양 별관' 일식집에서 했습니다. 푸짐하게 나온 신선한 회에 (비싼) 소주 한 잔을 곁들이며, 오늘 아쉬웠던 샷들에 대한 복기(?)와 함께 즐거운 수다를 이어갔습니다.
2차는 역시 우리 모두의 친구, '치맥'과 함께했습니다. 이보다 더 완벽한 마무리 코스가 있을까요. 늦은 시간까지 웃고 떠들다가, 마지막은 다 같이 지하철을 타고 무사히 '컴백홈'했습니다.
V. 맺음말: 완벽했던 하루
날은 비록 추웠고 스코어도 엉망이었지만, 좋은 친구들과 아름다운 곳에서 올해의 마지막 라운딩을 함께하고, 맛있는 음식으로 한 해를 마무리하는 회식까지... 정말 완벽한 하루였습니다.

On November 10th, I visited Gapyeong Benest CC with friends. An early 7:45 AM tee-off. It was warm just the day before, November 9th, but this day was just so cold.
The dawn air stung my nose, but the excitement was greater, knowing this was the last golf game of the year with my friends.
II. Picturesque Gapyeong Benest Amidst the Bitter Cold
The weather was cold, but the scenery at Gapyeong Benest was truly picturesque. The magnificent mountains, imbued with the spirit of late autumn, the crimson leaves, and the silver grass scattered throughout the course all came together to draw admiration.
Even if my shots weren't landing, it was a round that was a feast for the eyes. The scenery unfolding at every tee box made me forget the cold for a moment.
III. A Round that Left Only Joy, Forgetting the Score
However, perhaps because the weather was so cold, none of my companions, including myself, had good scores. Our bodies were stiff, our swings were off, and we all laughed about how our balls weren't flying as far as usual.
Still, with the thought that this was the "last golf of the year," no one dwelled on their scores. Instead, we encouraged each other, shared jokes, and simply enjoyed the moment, ending the round happily.
IV. The Last Get-Together of the Year: Part 1 & 2
After the round, we all took warm showers and parted ways for a bit. Then, we met again in the evening for our final get-together to wrap up the year.
Part 1 was at a Japanese restaurant called 'Taepyeongyang Byeolgwan.' We chatted happily over a generous plate of fresh sashimi and a glass of (expensive) soju, debriefing(?) the shots we missed today.
Part 2 was, of course, our good friend 'Chimaek' (Chicken and Beer). Could there be a more perfect way to end it? We laughed and talked until late, and at the end, we all took the subway and safely made it 'home sweet home'.
V. Conclusion: A Perfect Day
The day was cold and the scores were terrible, but to be with good friends in a beautiful place for the last round of the year, and even have a year-end dinner with delicious food... it was a truly perfect day.
