안녕하세요! 태국 카오야이 4박 6일 골프 여행기, 3일차(10/30) 후기입니다. 어제 36홀 강행군을 잘 마치고 맞이한 3일차 아침, 저희를 반긴 것은 아쉽게도 세차게 내리는 비였습니다. '오늘 일정이 괜찮을까?' 하는 걱정과 함께 3일차 여정을 시작했습니다.
하지만 결론부터 말씀드리면, 오늘은 걱정이 환희로 바뀐, 가장 극적이고 감동적인 하루였습니다!
II. 3일차 하이라이트: 비, 골프, 그리고 기적
A. 빗속의 와이너리 방문: PB 밸리 카오야이 (PB Valley Khao Yai Winery)
오전 7시 30분, 저희는 빗속을 뚫고 카오야이에서 가장 유명한 와이너리인 'PB 밸리 포도원'으로 향했습니다.
태국에서 와이너리라니 조금 생소했지만, PB 밸리는 태국 와인 시장의 선두주자라고 합니다. 비가 와서 야외를 오래 둘러보진 못했지만, 잘 가꾸어진 포도밭과 와인 저장고(셀러) 등을 둘러보며 카오야이의 또 다른 매력을 느낄 수 있었습니다.
B. 폭우, 그리고 기적: 카오야이 컨트리 클럽 (Khao Yai Country Club)
와이너리 방문을 마치고, 3일차 라운드 장소인 '카오야이 컨트리 클럽(Khao Yai CC)'에 도착했습니다. (일정상 11:00 도착, 클럽하우스에서 점심 식사)
그런데 클럽하우스에 도착했을 때, 비는 그칠 기미는커녕 그야말로 '양동이로 쏟아붓는' 수준의 폭우가 내렸습니다. '오늘은 도저히 공을 칠 수 없겠다'고 거의 포기하는 심정으로 클럽하우스에서 점심 식사를 했습니다.
그런데, 정말 기적이 일어났습니다. 점심을 다 먹고, 샷건 스타트(14:30)를 위해 골프 카트가 있는 곳으로 나가자, 거짓말처럼 비가 완전히 그쳤습니다!
비가 그친 직후라 하늘은 흐렸지만, 덕분에 덥지 않고 정말 시원하게 라운드를 즐길 수 있었죠. 특히 비구름이 산 중턱에만 안개로 살짝 걸쳐있어서, 게임에는 전혀 방해가 되지 않으면서도 신비로운 풍경을 연출했습니다.
C. "여기는 밀림인가?" 카오야이 CC 라운드 후기
카오야이 CC에서 공을 치는 내내 들었던 생각은 "와, 여기 정말 너무 멋있다"였습니다.
울창한 나무들이 코스를 감싸고 있어 마치 깊은 밀림 속에서 골프를 치는 듯한 압도적인 자연경관을 자랑했습니다. 어제 방문한 란초 찬위 CC가 럭셔리하고 잘 정돈된 유럽식 정원이었다면, 이곳은 야생의 자연미가 살아있는 느낌이었죠.
솔직히 비가 많이 온 직후라 그런지 코스 관리 상태(배수 등)가 란초 찬위 CC만큼 완벽하지는 않았습니다. 하지만 그런 단점을 모두 덮어버릴 만큼 코스 레이아웃과 압도적인 풍경이 정말 최고였습니다. 왜 이곳이 명문 골프장이라 불리는지 알 수 있었습니다.

D. 오늘의 하이라이트: 샷 이글!
이 멋진 골프장에서, 이번 팸투어 최고의 하이라이트가 터졌습니다!
바로 저와 함께한 동반자분 중 한 분이 '샷 이글(Shot Eagle)'을 기록한 것입니다! 파 4홀에서 친 세컨드 샷이 그대로 홀컵으로 빨려 들어가는, 정말 만화 같은 장면이었습니다.
저희는 모두 자리에서 펄쩍 뛰어오르며 감탄과 환호, 그리고 뜨거운 박수를 보냈습니다. 샷이글의 기운 덕분인지, 라운드 내내 분위기는 최고조였고 정말 너무너무 재미있는 경기를 펼칠 수 있었습니다.
저희가 골프를 마치고 식당으로 향하는 길에 또 많은 비가 내렸습니다.
E. 그리웠던 그 맛: 이태원 클라쓰 (Itaewon Class)
꿈같았던 라운드를 마치고, 저녁 식사(18:30)를 위해 카오야이 속의 작은 한국, '이태원 클라쓰' 한식당을 찾았습니다. 3일 내내 골프를 치고 나니 얼큰한 한식과 소주가 간절했거든요.
저희는 삼겹살과 소주를 주문했습니다. 태국에서 먹는 삼겹살 맛이 과연 어떨까 했는데... 정말 너무 맛있었습니다! 지글지글 익어가는 삼겹살에 시원한 소주 한 잔을 곁들이니 오늘 하루의 피로가 싹 가시는 기분이었습니다.
안타깝지만, 오늘도 사진을 찍지는 못했습니다.
F. 3일차의 마무리: 호텔에서의 담소
맛있는 저녁 식사 후 호텔(20:30)로 복귀했습니다. 하지만 이대로 잠들기엔 아쉬운 밤이었죠. 저를 포함한 많은 일행이 호텔 레스토랑에 다시 모여 시원한 맥주를 마시며 오늘 있었던 샷이글과 멋진 코스에 대해 이야기를 나눴습니다. 늦은 시간까지 웃음이 끊이지 않았던, 완벽한 하루의 마무였습니다.
III. 맺음말: 영화 같았던 하루를 보내며
폭우로 시작해 샷이글로 끝난, 정말 영화 같았던 3일차였습니다. 카오야이의 날씨는 변덕스러웠지만, 그 덕분에 더 시원하고 극적인 라운드를 즐길 수 있었네요.
4일차에는 드디어 휴식(?)을 겸한 '태국 마사지'와 현지 맛집, 그리고 이탈리아 토스카나를 옮겨놓은 듯한 '토스카나 밸리 CC' 라운드가 기다리고 있습니다. 다음 후기도 기대해 주세요!

The day started with worries due to heavy rain, but after visiting the 'PB Valley Winery', the rain miraculously stopped right as we arrived at 'Khao Yai CC'. We witnessed a 'Shot Eagle' by a playing partner on the fantastic course and capped off the day with a perfect Korean BBQ dinner at 'Itaewon Class'. It was a dramatic day where worry turned into pure joy.
I. Introduction: A Day of Worry Turned to Joy
Hello! This is the Day 3 (10/30) review of our 4-night, 6-day Khao Yai golf trip. After successfully completing the 36-hole marathon yesterday, the morning of Day 3 unfortunately greeted us with pouring rain. We started our journey with the worry, "Will our schedule be okay today?"
However, to give you the conclusion first, today was the most dramatic and moving day, where worry turned into elation!
II. Day 3 Highlights: Rain, Golf, and a Miracle
A. Winery Visit in the Rain: PB Valley Khao Yai (PB Valley Khao Yai Winery)
At 7:30 AM, we drove through the rain to Khao Yai's most famous winery, the 'PB Valley Vineyard'.
A winery in Thailand seemed a bit unfamiliar, but PB Valley is said to be a leader in the Thai wine market. We couldn't explore the outdoors for long due to the rain, but we got to feel another side of Khao Yai while looking around the well-maintained vineyards and wine cellars.
B. Downpour and a Miracle: Khao Yai Country Club
After the winery visit, we arrived at our Day 3 golf location, the 'Khao Yai Country Club (Khao Yai CC)'. (Scheduled arrival at 11:00 AM for lunch at the clubhouse).
However, when we arrived at the clubhouse, the rain showed no signs of stopping; it was literally 'pouring from a bucket'. We had lunch at the clubhouse, feeling almost completely resigned that 'we definitely can't play today'.
But then, a miracle truly happened. After we finished lunch and went out to the golf carts for our shotgun start (14:30), the rain stopped completely, as if it were all a lie!
The sky was overcast since it was right after the rain, but thanks to that, it wasn't hot, and we could enjoy the round in very cool weather. Especially, the rain clouds hung lightly as mist only on the mountainside, creating a mystical landscape without interfering with the game at all.
C. "Is This a Jungle?" Khao Yai CC Round Review
The entire time I was playing at Khao Yai CC, the thought that kept running through my head was, "Wow, this place is absolutely stunning."
It boasted an overwhelming natural landscape, with dense trees surrounding the course, making it feel like playing golf in a deep jungle. If Rancho Charnvee CC, which we visited yesterday, was a luxurious and well-manicured European garden, this place had a wild, natural beauty.
Honestly, perhaps because it was right after heavy rain, the course maintenance (drainage, etc.) wasn't as perfect as Rancho Charnvee CC. However, the course layout and the breathtaking scenery were so superb that they overshadowed all such shortcomings. I could understand why it's called a prestigious golf course.

D. Today's Highlight: A Shot Eagle!
At this magnificent golf course, the absolute best highlight of this entire fam tour occurred!
One of my playing partners recorded a 'Shot Eagle'! It was a scene straight out of a comic book, where the second shot on a Par 4 hole went straight into the cup.
We all jumped out of our seats, cheering, applauding, and expressing our amazement. Thanks to the energy from the shot eagle, the atmosphere was at its peak throughout the round, and we had an incredibly fun game.
As we finished our round and headed to the restaurant, it started to rain heavily again.
E. That Flavor We Missed: Itaewon Class
After the dream-like round, we visited the Korean restaurant 'Itaewon Class', a little Korea in Khao Yai, for dinner (18:30). After playing golf for three straight days, I was desperately craving spicy Korean food and soju.
We ordered Samgyeopsal (pork belly) and soju. I wondered how pork belly in Thailand would taste... and it was absolutely delicious! Pairing the sizzling pork with a glass of cool soju seemed to melt away all the fatigue from the day.
Unfortunately, I couldn't take pictures again today.
F. Wrapping Up Day 3: A Chat at the Hotel
After a delicious dinner, we returned to the hotel (20:30). But the night was too good to just go to sleep. Many from our group, including myself, gathered again at the hotel restaurant, drinking cool beer and talking about the shot eagle and the amazing course. It was the perfect end to a perfect day, with laughter that didn't stop until late at night.
III. Conclusion: A Day Like a Movie
It was a day like a movie, starting with a downpour and ending with a shot eagle. The weather in Khao Yai was fickle, but thanks to that, we were able to enjoy a cooler, more dramatic round.
Day 4 finally brings a 'Thai Massage' (which also serves as a break?), local delicious food, and a round at 'Toscana Valley CC', which looks like it was transported from Tuscany, Italy. Please look forward to the next review!
