입국 수속을 마치고, 저희를 기다리고 있던 밴에 올라 이번 여행의 진짜 목적지인 '카오야이(Khao Yai)'로 향했습니다. 방콕에서 카오야이까지는 차로 약 3시간. 창밖으로 스쳐 지나가는 이국적인 풍경을 보며 앞으로의 여정에 대한 기대감에 부풀었습니다.

아쉽게도 정신없이 들어가느라 식당 외부나 음식 사진은 한 장도 찍지 못했네요. 이곳은 '카오 톰'이라는 태국식 쌀죽이 대표 메뉴인데, 우리나라의 곰탕이나 닭죽처럼 속을 뜨끈하고 편안하게 해주는 음식이었습니다. 긴 비행과 이동으로 지친 몸을 달래기에 안성맞춤이었죠. 쌀죽 외에도 여러 가지 태국식 반찬을 곁들여 먹으며 여행 첫날의 피로를 풀었습니다.

Hello! The 4-night, 6-day Thailand Khao Yai Golf Fam Tour, from October 28th to November 2nd, has finally begun. This tour, with 13 participants including officials from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), was a packed itinerary to experience the charming golf courses and hidden gems of Khao Yai, known as the 'Switzerland of Thailand.'
I'll be sharing this vivid review over five parts. Today is the first story, introducing the excitement-filled journey of Day 1!
1. From Incheon to Bangkok, and on to Khao Yai!
We departed from Incheon early in the morning on Thai Airways flight TG659. After about a 6-hour flight, we safely arrived at Thailand's gateway, Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). The warm air that greeted us as soon as we disembarked made me realize, 'Ah, I'm really in Thailand.'
After clearing immigration, we boarded the van waiting for us and headed to our trip's true destination, 'Khao Yai'. It's about a 3-hour drive from Bangkok to Khao Yai. Watching the exotic scenery pass by the window, I was filled with anticipation for the journey ahead.
2. Accommodation: Fortune Courtyard Khao Yai Hotel
Around 5 PM, we arrived at the 'Fortune Courtyard Khao Yai Hotel', our home for the next four days. Located near Khao Yai National Park, it had good accessibility and a very clean exterior.
After getting my room assignment, I found the space to be cozy and comfortable, more than adequate for resting after our packed upcoming schedule.
3. Day 1 Dinner: Local Eatery 'Khao Tom Lak Heng' Restaurant
After unpacking and catching our breath at the hotel, we left for dinner. Our first dinner spot was a local favorite called 'Khao Tom Lak Heng Restaurant'.
Unfortunately, in the rush to get in, I didn't manage to take any photos of the restaurant exterior or the food. This place is famous for 'Khao Tom', a Thai-style rice porridge, which was as warm and comforting as Korean Gomtang (beef bone soup) or Dakjuk (chicken porridge). It was the perfect meal to soothe our bodies, weary from the long flight and travel. We enjoyed the rice porridge with several Thai side dishes, washing away the fatigue of our first day.
Conclusion and Day 2 Preview
After a hearty dinner, we returned to the hotel to rest, concluding our first night in Khao Yai.
